I believe this rule to be most important in my practice. I like familiarising myself with various topics, gathering insight and inspiration through knowledge. Only once I’ve done that, can I start writing about the worlds and their inhabitants in which I explore human bonds and show emotions that are not often talked about. The styles in which I create are often adjusted to the means and tools - cutting lines of linoprints, nostalgic shades of watercolors, and lively colors of riso bring my design to life in various shapes and forms.
Through animation, my characters move, through comics, dance; through pencils, wail, and through music, laugh, but never stay in one place. Just like in reality. I not only want to create worlds that reflect it, but also build a space where audiences confront their fears and traumas, and in doing so, find peace and safety.
And behind all that is one wish - maybe someday my art will aid somebody in their journey, just like so many artists prior to me helped in mine.
